Let us start this blog without being politically correct. What does one think of when he hear the word- “terrorism”? Some common things would be: IS, Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, 9/11, Iraq war, Taliban, Saudi Arabia etc etc. Frankly no one would think of Brenton Tarrant, the Christchurch mosque attacker or some Hindu extremists in India whose attacks against Muslims can be counted on fingers. No one is supporting or understating the brutality of any other religion’s role in terrorism. Every religion has its own extremists. And though I am not blaming religion itself for the whole problem but yes it does play a significant role; and that is a whole different topic let’s not go there. The question here is, why IS, Al Qaeda, Bin Laden, 9/11 and all these terms have relation to just one religion? Am I questioning the very foundation of Islam here? No. I am clearly not. But something is wrong with its followers- the Muslims, more than with any other religion’s followers. And honestly the problem of extremism has always been there in the three monotheistic Abrahamic religions. But why one religion is blamed or questioned more than any other one? Let us find out what went wrong in understanding religious terrorism and how its reaction and response went wrong as well.

We see “terrorism” as a word came into common usage after 1980’s and 90’s. And it was not for white terrorism, left terrorism, Sikh terrorism, Hindutva terrorism or any other kind of terrorism but for “Islamist terrorism”. Yes. Mujahideen were defeating the communist oppressors of the Soviet Union and their victory made them confident enough to use their Wahabi mindset to further fuel their thirst for blood, violence and destruction. Soon the world started facing Islamist terror attacks around the world. But we are missing one whole chapter here. The Palestinian Jihadis. The Palestinian Islamists were attacking the Jews in and outside Israel, hijacking civil flights, killing common Jews and even other religion’s followers. A brutal incident I always click whenever I think about early Islamist violence related to Muslim-Jew conflict, is the 1972 Munich massacre. In 1972, during the Munich Olympics 11 Israeli athletes were brutally killed by Palestinian Islamist extremists. They were killed because of them being Jews not that Israel was oppressing Palestinian people. It’s a religious war wrongly depicted as a war for land acquisition by the left. Because the left does not want to expose the hatred for Jews which has always been there in Islamic history and theology. And I will not go soft here but everyone who has read Islamic history knows how Islamic Prophet Mohammed killed 900 Jews of Banu Qurayza tribe. These Jews were beheaded on the order from Mohammed and some claim he himself beheaded some! You ask your Muslim neighbour and he will say “Yahoodis (Jews) are bad people”. How such innocent Muslims are being brainwashed like this.

Now, that was early Islamist violence that is till 80s. And mind you I have not covered everything yet. But let us now enter the latter part of Islamist violence, from the 90’s till now. Here comes Al Qaeda and Taliban in the picture. Bin Laden going on a killing spree, targeting westerners and other “infidels” around the world, picking Americans and Jews specifically to torture and kill them. Who can forget the beheading of Daniel Pearl, an American journalist beheaded by terrorists in Pakistan linked to Al Qaeda, in 2002. And then of course the ISI or AQI as known earlier before they split from Al Qaeda only to be known later as world’s most brutal, sadist terrorist group ever, “ISIS” or “IS” as of now. And the violence is continuing even today; from 9/11 to Charlie Hebdo and such brutal attacks simultaneously around the world, in France, in US, in UK, in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and where not. Footballers are being shot at while they are kicking football, dancers being attacked and their bar turned into blood pool, students being killed at universities, Sufi and Shia shrines being attacked by Suicide bombers, NATO pilot captured and burnt alive and his footage posted on internet! The world has never seen such brutality, such a death of humanity in any group of people as these Wahabi extremists! No white terrorist is attacking children, yes they are there but random. They are nothing compared to sheer brutality and uncountable number of attacks by Islamists. No Hindu outfit is beheading children and women anywhere reciting verses from Vedas or Manusmriti because honestly there are no such verses in any Indian religions’ scriptures. But what the Media is doing to reveal the truth? Deceiving the viewers with no facts but emotional and pseudo liberal mindset. Let us look at some of this drama.

You open New York times, BBC News, CNN or any other left oriented Media platform and you will find headlines like- three Palestinian civilians (as if the BBC or NYt was there to ID them) killed in Israeli strike; US drone kills civilians in Afghanistan; Indian Army kills two Kashmiris; White supremacist misbehaves with black in plane etc etc. These headlines are covering the 5% of entire violence when it comes to terrorism and to be specific, religious terrorism. The actual religion based violence which comes entirely without provocation, is always ignored and if at all they have to publish it, they will not use aggressive words against them. Why? Because the Muslims, the blacks, the leftists are always “victim” in their mind. So their news coverage is tuned in such a way that a layman reader would soon start empathizing with Muslims and blacks and have a strong opposition to White people, America, Israel and the Hindus of India. But is that right? Is every white person in USA attacking black people? Is every Israeli shooting at Palestinians? Is every Hindu (I myself am a Hindu in India and I speak for Sufism and Muslims as well) in India killing or oppressing Muslims? That is the reality of the whole story. If such was the case, there would be no blacks left in USA, no Muslims left in India and no Palestinians left there. The real headlines which we do not see often should be: Talibani terrorists stone a woman to death for adultery; US soldiers do not shoot at children, terrorists use new tactic by using children and women as defense; hundreds of Hindu locals brutally killed, raped and ultimately forced to leave their home state by Kashmiri Islamist extremists; white man defends Muslim shopkeeper from racist man etc.

We can only hope that such reputed media platforms who are talented, authentic and yes their intelligence is no doubt commendable; stop taking sides, and actually put forward authentic and unbiased information on their channels and papers and expose the most brutal religious terrorism ever- Wahabi Terrorism, to the world.
